Music I Like
I apologize for all of the YouTube embeds.
Most people probably know about the song Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap from its meme status, but I highly recommend listening to it for the experience. It‘s honestly a beautiful song featuring only Imogen‘s voice and a vocoder. Furthermore, I recommend the entire album of Speak for Yourself by Imogen Heap.
Nekokat (and The Ready Set, and Onlychild...) is a pop group from California featuring an artist I've followed for a long time, Jordan Witzigreuter. From Nekokat's short discography, I recommend the song You You You. If you have the time, his other projects are also good pop projects. Onlychild is made up of a few singles.
A little difficult to write hooks for all of these as I'm not used to sharing my opinions on things. Found from Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music. Someone in the comments says their cat loved this song when she was high on catnip.
Another meme status song, I'm sure almost everyone reading this has heard Dragostea din tei by O-Zone before, but the album it comes from, DiscO-Zone, is a Moldovan pop album worth a listen. It shaped my early teenage years. They also have a trance version of Fiesta de la noche that originates from their debut album, Dar, Unde Esti?.
Found from the FL Studio manual, this is a cute song that should have more than 40k views.
This Vocaloid cover of Headlock is wonderful. The tuning is nostalgic to me even though I didn‘t listen to much Vocaloid music as a kid. Furthermore, I love this song as it‘s a cover of my favorite song with my favorite Vocaloid. The harmonies in this one are wonderful. Also the vibrato of „mmm whatcha say“ is adorable. I love Oliver so much.I have a soft spot for the entire Mystic Messenger soundtrack but Light and Daffodils is a beautiful song to me. For instrumentals, I also like Sun's Love.
Also, Issues by Korn is probably my favorite album of all time.
Icelandic music
I mostly listen to Icelandic rap because I find the language and culture interesting, although I do have other music recommendations.
Kælan Mikla is a gothic rock band, I recommend the song Draumadís (Nymph Of Dreams). It's a dark synth song with postpunk influence.
I don't really recommend kef LAVÍK too much, but you HAVE to listen to Hundrað kílómetra á tímann (Hundred kilometers an hour). It's one of my favorite songs. If you're interested in very processed vocals and synths, you may enjoy his music. I also like Leiðirnar til himna (Path to heaven) (schizoid coded?)
Úlfur Úlfur primarily makes modern-sounding rap music, but their song Ég er farinn (I am gone) is a favorite of mine for its electronic influence. It‘s mostly sung with a rap verse towards the end.
